AMT's Masterpiece Collection . . . nearly a promo!
 
AMT is releasing a new series of model cars that will fit
perfectly with your promotional model car collection. It's AMT's new Masterpiece
Collection, a series of limited edition, 1/25th scale plastic kits that are painted,
detailed AND assembled.
 
A wide range of cars from the '50s, '60s and '70s will be released this year. Scheduled
are the 1957 Chrysler 300, 1958 Edsel Pacer, 1960 Ford Starliner, 1962 Chevy
Impala SS convertible, 1962 Pontiac Catalina SD, 1966 Buick Riviera
1971 Dodge Charger R/T and the 1970.5 Baldwin Camaro. And the price? Just $25 each.
 
The Masterpiece Collection is based on selected AMT kits. Each kit is painted,
detailed AND assembled by one of AMT's professionals.
 
Each model car features an opening hood, detailed engine and chassis,
and a detailed interior. In all, there are over 100 painted parts.
Silver paint is even used to detail the areas around the windows that
are chromed on the real car.
 
Each car in the Masterpiece Collection will be offered in one color.
The final color for each car has not been announced.
 
Production is extremely limited: Only 5,000 of each model will be produced,
and each model will be shipped in a sealed box with a certificate
of authenticity that has a serial number.
